CASE STUDY
A cafe and floral studio in Russellville, Kentucky, where giving is built into every order.
Brand Identity, Website, SEO, Graphic Design, Brand Photography, Email Marketing
At The Giving Plate, every purchase comes with the option to buy a meal for someone else. This is not a campaign, but a cornerstone to how the business operates. The cafe has an attached floral studio, so when building the brand identity, botanical iconography ran through the design to connect both spaces. I also wanted to incorporate a circular motif, reinforcing the mission that giving comes back around.
PROCESS
The Giving Plate needed somewhere to live before the business was open. I built a pre-launch page first, put a newsletter signup on it, so an audience was being built while the homepage was still in production. By launch there were more than 400 subscribers already waiting.
The full site was built on local search, so the people already looking for a cafe in Russellville could find it. Newsletter collection and testimonial requests are wired into it, which means the site keeps gathering an audience and proof without anyone having to remember to ask.
The visibility that followed helped earn two television features, NewsChannel5 Nashville and ABC 13 WBKO, and a Humana Health Partnership.
